I had a first at Hurricane Grill and Wings this week. For the folks that don't know I play kind of on a sidewalk in front of the place. Anyway a guy pulls up in a blazer just as I was finishing a song. He had the windows down blasting music. Sitting there thinking that was kind of rude until I realized it was my music! He couldn't believe I was playing there, he jumped out of his truck with my CD  pen in hand. I signed it, he bought me a beer. And left me with this story. Looking to do some more recording this week at Barry's. Thanks for letting me live my dream! Stop texting, start talking. Keepin' it Real! -David

Thursday, January 2, 2014

December 23rd, DAVE at Eclipse - George and I were in the studio and recorded "Don't Stare At The Sun"

December 23rd, The Super Hackers at Hurricane Patty's - Even with the date change and being so close to Christmas it was a great night! Looking forward to getting together with these guys next month.

December 24th, DAVE at Stoogies - This is the first time at this venue. Everyone was real nice. Sam Pacetti invited me into his office. I have not seen him in a long time.  Seems like he's doing good. Another musician I met was Michael Jordon.  Someone had asked for a Tom Waits tune and I heard him say he knew one. I asked him if he wanted to get up and play he said yes. "My guitar is just outside". I was blown away.  This guy has a very unique style and is also from Virginia (The Northern Neck). My Dad, Will, Theresa, Dylan and Jessica were there so I felt a little more comfortable even with my Dad calling out the play list (thanks Dad). I have about 80 original songs I'm trying to play and all it takes is someone that knows my music to catch me off guard. I have figured out a system I plan to try to stick to in 2014!

December 25th, Sun City, S.C. - Merry Christmas!!!!  Spent the day with my Dad, Margie, Theresa and Brianna it was nice!

December 26th, DAVE at The Corner Bar - The day after Christmas a pretty slow night! Kruz did a good job! Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

December 27th & 28th, DAVE at Sea Jay's - What a great weekend! Had a great time playing made some new friends! Then Saturday just before the end of the gig I started feeling a little weird. By Sunday morning I was pretty darn sick.

December 29th, DAVE at Creekside - We finally got home and I went straight to bed. I slept all day (kind of) and then about 3pm went to go set up at Creekside. Saw Shelley she said to set up outside. I did and then it started to rain and never stopped the whole night. I was feeling worse by the minute and by 8pm I had to call it quits, Terry had seen flu victims before and spotted my problem right away along with Hoagy and Susy who had just recovered from their bout with it. So back to bed I went.

December 30th, DAVE at home - Stayed in bed all day and was getting worse and worse. Finally gave in and Theresa took me to the Doctor. 5 grueling hours with the Doctor looking at me over his glasses after asking the same questions over and over after his assistant had asked the same questions over and over. We finally escaped. I think everyone was in there for the same thing.

December 31st, Wharf Ratz - NorthStar at Sea Jay's - Happy new Year! I struggled all day about whether to cancel the gig and then just went. Unfortunately Theresa started feeling worse on the way up and stayed in the truck the whole night under a sleeping bag. Vee (Brady's lady) was also sick and stayed in the room at the Quality Inn. The gig went great I was glad to be a part of it and spend the night playing with guys I respect. Thanks CJ and staff!

Got home about 3am and couldn't sleep thinking about people I miss. Things I wish I had said. Things I should have done. My life has been a far cry from perfect but I am a product of every good and bad thing I have done. For this New Year I am going to continue to try to be the best I can and look forward to hanging out and playing for my friends and anyone else that wants to listen. Happy New Year to everyone! I miss Penny Lane! Thanks for letting me live my dream! Stop texting, start talking! Keepin' it Real!!!!!! -David

By the way:
The letter I sent to TRIFEXIS about my concerns about the products safety was answered by a personal phone call from an animal doctor who worked for the company. I was impressed not thinking it mattered what I thought. I appreciate them talking with Theresa and I. But even after that all I can say is be careful what you are feeding and giving to your pets. Just dog food made in America and don't just give your dog or cat a brand of pill your Vet might be pushing at the time for what ever reasons. Good Bye Penny Lane we miss you!!!!!!

see you down the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
