September 5th , DAVE at Hurricane Grill and Wings - Not happening, they are closed for cleaning. Sorry I didn't let anyone know, I didn't know myself! I was off the week before.

September 6th, DAVE at the Corner Bar - What a great night! We had a wondeful crowd, what fun it was playing with Brady and Frankie! It's good to have at least one gig at home before I leave.

September 7th, 8th and 9th, DAVE at the Big Deck Raw Bar - We always look forward to this weekend. The weather was a little iffy but still had a great time playing for the folks that braved the elements. Always good to see my friends Pat and Pete! They might see Theresa and I back at the end of the month for a night out with Brian and Darlene! Thnaks Cedar Key I'll be back to play at the Big Deck on November 9th, 10th and 11th. Mark your calenders!

September 10th, NORTHSTAR AT Creekside - The weather looked threating so I guess it kept some folks home. Brady was in the house but not playing. He's just back from a dental procedure. A light crowd for probably our last monthly NorthStar gig. I had fun playing with Frakie and brother Ed.

September 11th, Retrophonics Studio - I worked with Jim Devito on some old 2" tape and 1/4 "tape recorded by "The North Star Band" (a band I played in from the late 70's - early 80's).  It is exciting to hear 40 year old songs, even an album we did not release. I've also enjoyed hanging out with my old friend Jim Devito. I hope to be doing more work with him in the future!

September 11th, Back 40 - Theresa and I had dinner with Michael and Joyce Howard. It's good to catch up with our friends at this nice place to eat. We're going to do it again in November.

September 12th, DAVE at Hurricane Grill and Wings - It turned out to be a busy, fun night. I miss JJ.

September 13th, DAVE at Corner Bar -  Brady Green joined me tonight. We had a pretty nice crowd. I always enjoy playing with my friend Brady. Hopefully, Frankie will be back next week.

September 14th, 15th and 16th, Shrimp and Grits Festival, Jekyll Island - Friday night George and I played a show at the Skeet Stage. We had a lot of fun. It was good to be hangin' with George again. Saturday we were NorthStar and opened for Jimmy Hall & Art of Soul. Our show went well. We had Frankie, George, Eddie, Brady and I representing tonight. Jimmy Hall is a monster, really enjoyed listening to him, such a pro. It was also good to see Derek, Tommy, Phil and Barry they were Jimmy Halls back up band. They are all great players, it was enjoyable listening to their show. Sunday Eddie, George and I joined Jefferson Ross in a songwriters in the round. It was good to hang with my friend Jefferson, what a performer! Eddie played a new tune he's been working on, it sounded great. George did a great job also. The whole weekend was a blast! Thanks Eddie

I was sad to hear from Michael Howard about the passing of Randy Brantley. I was proud to share the stage with him at one of our songwriter nights. Also saw him at Mayo Clinic. We crossed paths on our visit there. He was a good man. Thanks for letting me live my dream! Stop texting, start talking! Don't liter! Smile it could brighten someones day, even your own! August 29th, Virginia Trip - As was the plan, we spent the night in Fayetteville NC. After many years of driving straight through to this gig, we enjoy breaking the drive up. We had a nice dinner next door and a good nights sleep.

August 30th, Coles Point Tavern / Day 1- After a 6am breakfast we hit the road again. We stopped at the Food Lion in Warsaw for a couple of provisions on the way in. We arrived at the Tavern about 11:30am and started the load in. Randy showed up with the mains and we did a sound check and were done by 12:30. Theresa had headed farther north to see her sister and mom up in NoVa. Randy will be my ride until Theresa gets back up here. I'll be staying at  Chris and Ann's for the long weekend. I had one of the best grilled chicken salads ever for dinner, and the night turned out great, one of the best Thursday's yet for me.  It dosen't get much better than this! My friends Cecil and Richard showed up.

August 31st, Coles Point Tavern / Day 2 - I finished my book today. I'm glad I brought three.  I'll have a bunch to give Marcia when I get back. The gig was good, all the usual suspects are showing up now. I had a nice time. I played "To Love Somebody" for Creeky out on the deck on my way back to Chris and Ann's. Cecil and Richard showed up again.

September 1st, Coles Point Tavern / Day 3 - Another relaxing day on The Rivah. Second day, second morning walk. Napped and read the day away.  Randy picked me up about 5:30 to head over to the gig. This night I had a nice Steak and Cheese salad and another nice gig. Donna Britten showed up and sang a song with me "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You". She sounded wonderful. She and I also sang 'To Love Somebody" for Creeky at the end of the gig out on the deck. Donna will be playing in Pensacola for a songwriters festival in October.  She'll be doing a special tribute to our friend CJ Watson, a great songwriter friend who recently passed away. I had a couple beers with Chris and Josh at the house after the gig. Cecil, Richard and Bruce showed up!

September 2nd, Coles Point Tavern / Day 4 - Another relaxing day on The Rivah. The weather has been hot and clear perfect for being on the water. I took my morning walk then met Randy and we had breakfast with the Rowsee clan at Salisa and Steve's. It was great. Read and relaxed after that great meal. Randy picked me up again and we headed to the tavern for one of Chris's famous crabcake sanwiches,  all crabmeat! I had another great night! Cecil was is the house again! I'm glad Theresa is back! Soon after she arrived Richard knocked on the door with some crabs for her.

September 3rd, Coles Point Tavern / Day 5  - I've had a great time this week but I'm ready to play this last gig and get on the road and home for a few days before we go over to Cedar Key. My dad and Margie showed up on this last day. I had a nice crowd and a fun afternoon. I packed up the gear, and we said our goodbyes and hit the road. We made Fayetteville NC about 9pm. Time for some sleep.

September 4th, Travel Day - Up at 6am for the breakfast buffet and back on our way. We made it home about 1:30pm. Man, it's good to be back home. I unloaded the car and repacked the truck then called it a day.

This is a week I always look forward to, I get to play music for my friends. I get a chance to relax and read. Theresa gets a chance to visit her family in Northern Virginia. I get the chance to see my Dad, Margie and Cecil. I missed Ed. We were so sorry to hear about the tragic event that took place in his familly and the loss of my Uncle Bob. My Uncle Bob was a great man, I admired him a lot. Thanks for letting me live my dream! Stop texting, start talking! Don't liter! Smile it might brighten someones day, even your own! August 13th, NORTHSTAR at Creekside - What a great night! The weather didn't cooperate but it didn't slow down the crowd. They were eating dinner outside with their unbrella's out. Eddie was in Pennsylvainia so Rob Peck took his place for the evening. He did a great job, along with Brady Frankie and I. We were joined through the night by Uncle Charles and Dewey Via. It doesn't get any better than this. I really enjoyed the evening and am looking forward to playing with Dewey and Rob along with Mike Howard at our Songwriters Night on August 17th at the Corner Bar. Also Dr. Bill, Gary and Steve Beck were in the house. Thnaks Creekside, see you October 15th!

The place was full when I finished. I can never figure it out. I was sorry to hear JJ was leaving. He will be missed. I'm sure he will do good wherever he goes, good luck my friend.
