Thursday, March 10th, Eclipse - We finished mixing "Goodbye Danny". That's one down 9 to go.
PM, The Corner Bar - Had a nice crowd. Made some new friends. Saw some old friends. Thanks to Felicia and the wonderful staff at The Corner Bar. Thanks Kruz for sitting in. I enjoyed it.

Sunday, March 13th, NORTHSTAR @Finnegan's Wake - This was a good Sunday. NorthStar was somewhere else on A1A today. Ed and myself started the gig at Sunset Grille about 20 years ago. It was kind of like old times. Thanks Ed, Finnegan's Wake staff and everyone who showed up.
This was a fun week. I'm looking forward to the practice with The Big Lonesome tomorrow. I will be in the studio with NorthStar and working on my solo CD #2. See you guys next week. Keepin' It Real - David

Sunday, March 6th, NorthStar @ Zachry's - We had a great gig! A lot of old friends showed up. This place keeps getting better and better. Thanks Barbara and staff.
Monday, March 7th, The Big Lonesome rehearsal - What a blast! Everyone got together to practice (Robin was sick, we hope he's better soon).We now have another original "The Big Lonesome", written by Kruz and The Big Lonesome. Thanks Kruz we can't wait for you to hear it.
Tuesday, March 8th, NorthStar @ Zachry's - It was Fat Tuesday and it was fun! Another great gig! We are starting to record our performances and hope to have a live CD out sometime soon! Thanks Barbara and staff.
It was nice to be out of town. Got a chance to sit down with the song Kruz gave us to work on "The Big Lonesome". Also worked on a couple of ideas with Ed and walked on the beach. It's good to be home though. Keepin' It Real - David

Monday 2/28 The Hacker's - Had a great Monday! Everyone seemed like they were having fun. That makes for a good evening. Robin and Lisa sat in, they both sounded great. Denny also sat in on guitar, good job man. See you guys next month.
Tuesday 3/1 The Big Lonesome - Worked on Dark Haired Lady and a new song Kruz came up with, "The Big Lonesome". Ed, Kristen and myself had lunch and headed for Captain Stan's. He was doubled booked so we bowed out of it, the temperature was steadily dropping and looked like it was going to be a cold night. We stayed for a few minutes to listen to the first part of the act. She sang good, I did not get her name.

PM - The Corner Bar - Had a weird start. My PA system was making some funky sound. A couple of sharp raps later it was working fine. Steve Beck said he had the same problem and fixed it the same way. Todd (friend and musician from VA) stopped by, he's going come by and play a couple of songs with Ed and I at Finnegan's Wake this weekend. Thanks Kruz for your music. I had a good time tonight.
Friday 3/4 NORTHSTAR @ Finnegan's Wake - It was a fun night. Frankie stopped in and played most of the night. He sounded great. Carla from Virginia stopped by with Jay and Trent. It was great seeing our Virginia friend (Coles Point Tavern). We will be seeing her again in April with The Big Lonesome. Ed, it was a pleasure. Thanks everybody for hanging out with us.

Looks like were real busy for awhile. Thanks for your support! Another great night at Finnegan's Wake! It's a special place and we are having a blast with NORTHSTAR and I'm having a great time solo. "The Big Lonesome" is doing a couple of shows here (3/23 and 4/13). Thanks to the great staff and all the folks that come and see us here.
It's going to be real busy the next couple of months and I'm ready for it. Expect a lot of new music coming out. This is the best of times!!! Thanks for all the support, I would let you down. Keepin' It Real - David

Monday 2/21 - It was a full Big Lonesome rehearsal. The whole gang was there along with Chuck and Roboat. We had a great practice. We would like to thank the great folks at Survival Straps for making us survival bracelets Check them out. Kruz has come up with a song called The Big Lonesome. I picked up the idea today.
Tuesday 2/22 - Worked on The Big Lonesome song a little today.
Wednesday 2/23 - In the studio to add a violin part on"Goodbye Danny". Now it's time to start mixing.
Thursday 2/24, "JUST DAVE" @ The Corner Bar - I'm knocked out by how many people showed up to support original music. I would like to thank Kruz, Sharon Dunaway, Wayne Johnston, Gregg Chirico and my old friend Marc Douglas Berardo (scroll down for photos). You guys made this a very special night. I am sorry I'm going to miss Marc in April (The Big Lonesome will be in Virginia). But we're in talks about going up Marc's way in June. Thanks again everybody I had a great time!
Friday 2/25 - Headed to the Fox Theater in Atlanta with Theresa to see John Prine and possibly meet him. The trip was great. Atlanta is easy to get in and out of. The last time I was at the Fox Theater was for the release of "Freebird" the movie. It is a beautiful place. After having dinner at the Hard Rock with the Nicks Brothers (Jim and Jack), we took a stroll down Peachtree St. It was quite a walk but what a cool city. After arriving at the Fox, we found out that the opening act was "The Old Crow Medicine Show". These guys were great. They did two songs NorthStar and Just Dave will be learning "Tell It To Me" and "The Wheel". John Prine was great although the meeting never took place. I would like to thank Sharon Holland and family for taking care of us. We had a great time and really appreciate all the effort. Maybe next time.

Also thanks to Tommy and staff, you were great as usual and sorry for playing over. I was having so much fun I lost track of time. Looking forward to my next trip your way.

Had a great week. I am blessed to have so many good people around me and so many good people that come out to see me. I've written several new songs and have a bunch of new ideas lately. Wednesday, 2/16 - Getting together with my "Lonesome" friends today, can't wait! We're working on "Lonely Room" and a few others. Told some jokes and laughed a lot. We'll be getting together with eveyone Monday night.
Thursday, 2/17, "JUST DAVE" @ The Corner Bar - What a blast! When I started there was a few people sitting at the bar, nobody in the room. Kruz and Tom showed up and then all hell broke loose. The place was packed. Thanks for showing up everyone. Thanks to Gregg (The Big Lonesome, Mr. Natural, The Hackers) for singing with me. And thanks for sharing your music with us Kruz. Reminder for next week, singer, songwriter Marc Douglas Berardo is suppose to stop by to share the night with me. Come down and check it out. Friday, 2/18, "NORTHSTAR" @ Shaughnessy's - This is probably one of the best gigs I've been apart of of here at Shaughnessy's. What a great audience. Thanks to Marty and staff for a great night. Wayne Johnston sat in and kicked butt. Also Wayne said he would stop by on Thursday for the singer songwriter night with Marc Douglas Berardo.

Sunday, 2/20 "JUST DAVE" @ Finnegan's Wake - I've been on a good run of late, but today the ones that did good were Aaron Baddeley (PGA) and Trevor Bayne (Daytona 500). I played my 3 hour set for my wife and a few people here and there. That's just how it happened. Sunday 2-5pm Somewhere else on A1A.
I've had a great week. I'm real excited about The Big Lonesome. Hope to be in the studio this week. Meeting John Prine on Friday (I hope) and have a couple new songs to work on. Life is good! Keepin' It Real -David
