6-20 The Big Lonesome rehearsal at C & L Automotive.  We went over a few original tunes then talked about who was riding with who to Jekyll Island for the gig at Latitude 31 (our next gig, July 1st).  Looking forward to it guys!!

6-21 A day off.  Went and saw Jim Dunaway and had lunch with my Dad.

6-22 NorthStar @ Captain Stan's - It wasn't packed behind the magic fence but it sure was a good time.  The smoke was pretty bad,  Man, we need rain.  See you guys on Friday.  Thanks Captain Stan and staff you're the best!

6-23 Eclipse - Worked on "Is This Love Real", "Goodbye Danny" and "Yesterday Is Gone".  I only  have a little time each week, an hour or two to get things done.  You spend wasted time trying to remember what you did.  I will do things differently for my next effort.

PM, JUST DAVE @The Corner Bar - What a great night! Not many people but still fun.  Kruz sounded good and I had two friends show up.  Lou and Al Johnson.  I spent some years playing with Al in The North Star Band.  He got up and played Redneck Hippie, what a blast from the past!  Lou, his son played one of his songs, I don't remember the name but I'm going to download his new CD.  He, like his Dad is very talented and is moving to Nashville.  Good Luck Lou!!  Another one of my heroes, my Dad, was there.  I must have done pretty good, he stayed the whole evening (that hasn't happened since the 70's).  Thanks Nick and Nanna, see you guys next week.

6-24 NorthStar @ Captain Stan's - We were behind the magic fence again.  What a night!  It might have been the best night Ed and myself have played together in a long time.  Not that it isn't fun every night, but this was special.  Thanks Stan and staff!

6-25  JUST DAVE @ Private Party - I had a blast.  Thanks Ed, Steve, Judy and everyone else for a great time!

6-26 JUST DAVE @ Zaharias - What a nice day!  As I was setting up it looked like rain.  It turned out  to be a beautiful evening.  A great bunch of people, a great time!  This gig is a keeper.  Thanks Angelica and Holly, you guys are great!

6-27 THE HACKER'S @ Hurricane Patty's - Frankie was under the weather so Billy Anin sat in.  What a great job he did.  We had a great crowd, it was a lot of fun, look forward to next month!  Thanks everyone!

I'll be in the studio this week.  NorthStar is bringing Rusty Springfield in to put a bow bass part on "Music Man".  I can't wait to hear what he does.  Also, I'll spend the last hour working on my solo CD "Hopeless Romantic" Mike Houpt is going to play some keys on "What Would You Do"  I'm in the middle of a long week, look forward to playing for you.  Come on down.  Keepin' It Real - David

see you down the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monday, 6/13 - The Big Lonesome had a rehearsal.  Worked on a couple of Wayne's tunes and another that Gregg wrote the words for.  Frankie couldn't be there, but we got some stuff done anyway.  Bob is sounding better and better.  He's a very talented player.  Practice next week then a gig in Georgia.

Tuesday, 6/14 - A great night in the land of 44 TV's (The World Famous Oasis).  I had a good time and look forward to being back here on my birthday, June 28th.  Talked with Greg, the owner a little.  I might start doing a couple of other things there.  I'll keep you posted.  Thanks Lisa, Drews and Amy for taking such good care of me.

Wednesday, 6/15 - Sat down with Jim Stafford at Eclipse and fixed a couple of parts in a few tracks (Love's Strange and On The Road To Find Out).  I'm getting closer each trip to completion.  Next CD I'm going to cut all at once.  This is the hardest way to make a CD (a little at a time), but it will be done as soon  as humanly possible.  Thanks for your patience.

PM - I got a little overheated loading the equipment in at Captain Stan's.  Felt a little strange all night!  Ed held it together and it tuned out to be a great night!  Thanks Stan, Beth and staff, you guys make our trip behind the magic fence very enjoyable.

Thursday 6/16 - Had a nice evening at The Corner Bar.  Not a real big crowd but respectable.  Gregg Chirico (Mr Natural and The Big Lonesome) stopped by.  I'll see him next Monday at rehearsal.  Thanks Nick and Nanna, you guys are the best.  Also we'll be changing the time on Thursday's gig to 6-9pm.  See you there!!!!

Friday 6/17 - Frankie was with NorthStar (Ed and myself) tonight at Latitude 31.  The weather looked pretty bad when we started, but there were a lot of people so we decided to chance it.  We got a couple of hours in, then the shit hit the fan.  What a storm!  Thank goodness we didn't lose any equipment.  I would like to thank Peggy and her friends for coming out (South Caroline and Indiana).  They heard me about 6 months ago on the Island and came back!  Thanks also to Theresa and staff for taking such good care of us.

6-18, SeaJay's - It's always good to play this gig.  Tonight was as good as it gets.  Had a great crowd and met some great people.  I got to play a lot of my songs.  That really makes it special!  Thanks Tommy and staff you guys are the best!

Had a fantastic week!  Looking forward to getting together with The Big Lonesome on Monday.  I'm going to check out a couple of new rooms today.  Not real busy at the beginning of the week so I'll try to get into the studio a couple of times.  But then have a twelve day run...playing every night.  I'm excited, Matt Abts (Planet of the Abts, Government Mule) is bringing his band to our show in Virginia.  He has also requested to sit in with NorthStar (Ed, Frankie and myself), can't wait!  Thanks everyone for letting me live my dream!  Keepin' It Real - David

see you down the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wednesday, June 8, NorthStar @ The World Famous Oasis - We had a great night in the land of 44 TV's.  It was good to get back with Ed and play some.  Thanks to the staff at Oasis, you guys are great.

Thursday, June 9, Just Dave @ The Corner Bar - They made two changes while I was away and I made it through both so far, because of you guys.  It was not a great night as far as the crowd goes, but it was a fun night playing.  Thanks Kruz, you're sounding better and better.  Also thanks Nick and Nanna for taking good care of me.

Friday, June 10, Just Dave @ SeaJay's - It started out a little crazy, but it was cookin' by the end.  Made a couple of new friends.  Played a few tunes I don't normally do. Got together with Ed and we worked on "Midnight Blue", "Why Do People Go On Fightin'" from our "My Bird Still Ain't Talkin'" CD.  Also "Fast As The Wind" from our new CD "Keepin' It Real".  On my way home I stopped by Marti Gras and saw "Those Guys" minus Walt.  Chris was doing a good job, Barry sounded good as always, and so did the drummer (not sure of his name).  I couldn't hear the vocals so I had to leave after a couple tunes.  If you can't hear the words its not a song to me.  Thats why they are doing what they do and I'm doing what I do.  Good music though!

Saturday, June 11, Day off - Yard work, painting and then relax.

Sunday, June 12, Just Dave @ Zaharias - It was nice under the pavilion.  Hot outside, but a nice breeze blowing through.  I hope that lasts all summer.  I had a blast playing.  Todd, one of my musician friends from Virginia stopped by.  Thanks Angelica and staff, you're the best!

It's been a fun week.  I made some new friends, got to play with brother Ed (NorthStar), worked up a new original "Fast As The Wind".  This week is going to be busy, but looks like it could be fun too.  I will be in the studio at least one day.  Frankie will be joining us on Friday on Jekyll Island (NorthStar).  The Big Lonesome is getting together to work on 3 of Wayne's tunes.  Thanks for letting me live my dream.  "Keepin' It Real" - David

Tuesday, May 31, Travel Day - The drive north was pretty uneventful.  Had a problem finding a room when we decided to stop for the night.  We finally got one in Petersburg, VA.  Headed further north in the AM and picked Eddie and Kristen up at Dulles, then headed to the cabin in the mountains.  Hurray!!!!

Wednesday, June 1, NorthStar @ Lucky Star Lounge in Front Royal, VA - Only a few people were in the place while we were setting up.  We had a couple of beers and got up to do our job.  By the time we were tuned up to play, there was a nice crowd.  I miss and love my home state and it's so good to see my people getting into the music we are doing.  I would like to thank Trevor, Liz and Tim for taking great care of us.

Thursday, June 2, The Cabin @Hardscrabble - Had the day off.  Drank a few beers, helped Ed with the mowing and just enjoyed being up in the mountains.  Started getting an idea for a new song.

Friday, June 3, NorthStar @ Giuseppe's, Haymarket, VA - We didn't have our best night playing (we tried a new effect on the monitors and it didn't really work for us), but what a great crowd.  My good friends Pat and Sandra Markham stopped by.  My Dad, my uncles and aunts, Randy, Jason, Rev. Jim Jones and a heap of other special people.  Randy hung out with us for a couple of days.  Can't wait to play his concert in July.  Frankie Urzetta has added on for this show.  Denis and Ray from Kill Devil (Phoenix Project) came by and sat in.  Man, this was my  favorite band when I was living up in Virginia.  I am so proud they stopped by.  We talked about doing some shows together.  I hope that works out.  Last of all the great people at Giuseppe's, Joe, Josie and staff.  Thanks for a great night!  Happy Birthday Fred and Eddo (6/2)!!!

Saturday, June 4, NorthStar @ Pete's Party - Pete, Eddie's Uncle put on a hell of a house party up on top of the Hidden Valley Mountain.  We shared the night with Eddie's Uncle Mike  (the old coyote) and his wife Debbie.  Had a blast!  I think it will really take off in the future, Pete was a great host.  Thanks to the folks who showed up.  We had a great time!

Sunday, June 5, Just Dave @ The Gray House Party, RI - What a great time Marc and Chris did a great job.  This was a great experience for me.  To play for a group of people that want to hear what you have to say is very intense.  I love it!  At home I have great friends that keep pushing me to keep writing and playing my music.  It's times like this day that it pays off.  This is what it's all about.  I look forward to the chance to do this again.  Thanks Marc and Chris, you are my heros.  Also, thanks Andrew you did a great job and you were a great host.

I'm proud to be a singer, songwriter. I'm going to write and play my music for as many people as I can in the years to come.  Thanks Ed (NorthStar) for your friendship and your great playing and singing.  You're an inspiration to me every time I sit down to play next to you.  Thanks to every one else who supports my music.  You are a big part of helping me live my dream.  "Keepin' It Real" - David

see you down the road!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
